Giddings High School UIL Academics competed at the Hendrickson High School UIL Invitational on February 10, 2024. They competed against several schools including 5A and 6A high schools from around the state.
The following students placed in the top six at the meet:
Paige Janner placed 2nd in Computer Application, Valerie Viesca placed 5th in Computer Applications, Ashley Linares placed 6th in Computer Applications, Alisson Laris placed 3rd in
Spelling and Vocabulary, Dylan DeShetler placed 5th in Literary Criticism, Hope Thomas placed 6th in Editorial Writing, Rocky Eyler placed 3rd in Accounting, and Sonya Bhakta placed 4th in Copy Editing.
The Literary Criticism team of Dylan DeShetler, Gabriel Bailey, and Kayleigh Barnes placed 3rd. The Computer Science team of Kooper Bloodworth, Brandon Burgdorf, Pablo Luna, and Jonathan Marshall placed 5th.
The Accounting team of Rocky Eyler, Jonathan Luna, Sharron Adair, and Georges Baz placed 3rd.
The UIL Academics team next meet is this Friday February 23rd, at A&M Consolidated.
